Podiatrists who wish to work in Australia will be required to be registered with the Australasian Podiatry Council. All overseas graduates are considered on an individual basis, although some graduates may be exempt from exam requirements, dependent upon qualification.

To work in New Zealand, there is a two stage process, to gain registration. This includes a written examination (Stage 1) and a full day practical and oral examination (Stage 2) which is required to be sat in New Zealand.
There is an agreement between Australia and New Zealand for reciprocity which enables any Australian registered podiatrist to apply directly for registration in New Zealand, without requirements to sit examinations.
